Stud Management
James is currently involved in the management and direction of four studs in England. This is an aspect of the business at which he excels, and where his 40 plus years of experience in several different continents stand him in good stead. Whether it is stud design and layout, building design, fencing and paddock layout, soil chemistry and grassland management, James knows the answers – and if he doesn’t he knows a man who does.
Recent projects have included the design of Whitley Stud in Gloucestershire for Dominic Burke – a Greenfield site which has been transformed into a superb, state of the art, private stud.
Selection of foundation mares, arranging matings to appropriate stallions, and maximising the stud’s enviroment to achieve the genetic potential of the profeny are all part of the global service. References available on request.
